As the chief elf in charge of North Pole Letters and Keepsakes, Barbara Williams loves sharing the joy and magic of Christmas with her family and friends. As a child growing up with her younger sister in Portsmouth, Virginia, Christmas was a very special time of year for Barbara and her family. Coming from a close knit Italian family where Christmas was all about family, hope and love, she grew up celebrating many traditions that had been handed down through the generations. Baking the Italian Christmas cookies, decorating the family Christmas tree with the beautiful glass ornaments, visiting Santa, enjoying holiday dinners with the entire family, and singing Christmas carols are just a few of her favorite traditions. One of Barbara’s favorite memories is how Rudolph shined his bright red nose in the living room window one Christmas Eve letting her sister and her know that it was way past their bedtime. Now as a Mother of two very fine young men and four wonderful grandchildren, she is able to share all of her favorite traditions and Christmas stories and memories. She feels that one of the greatest gifts she can give her family is to share the many wonderful stories and traditions of the past. This helps young children understand where they came from and who they are. They will feel like they are part of a great family filled with love.
Barbara’s hobbies include reading, creative writing, scrapbooking, and genealogy research. As a graduate of Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Barbara has put her writing skills to work documenting her family history in her scrapbooking and genealogy projects. For a few years now, she has written Santa letters for her grandchildren and nieces and has now decided to share those letters and special keepsakes with other children to help families start some of their own traditions. Thus the creation of North Pole Letters and Keepsakes. Barbara currently lives in Chesapeake, Virginia with her husband, Phil and her little doxie dog, Coco and her German Shepherd puppy Athena.
